On 4 March, the CIVICAN centre in Pamplona hosted the presentation of the new chapter of the Innova Navarra programme, driven by Fundación Caja Navarra and Fundación ‘la Caixa’.
The event brought together representatives from the social, business and institutional ecosystem of Navarre to learn about the main new developments of this edition, which reinforces its commitment to social innovation, purpose-driven entrepreneurship and the generation of positive social and environmental impact in the territory.
During the presentation, the evolution of the Innova programme was highlighted as a reference space for driving social projects and strengthening the innovation ecosystem in Navarre. Over the years, the programme has accompanied numerous social organisations and entrepreneurs, consolidating itself as a key platform for collaboration among territorial actors.
A new chapter to drive social innovation in Navarre
The new edition of the programme incorporates various initiatives designed to accompany social organisations and entrepreneurs at different stages of development, as well as to foster collaboration among entities, companies and institutions.
Among the new features presented, three initiatives stand out that broaden the programme’s reach and seek to reinforce the impact ecosystem in Navarre from different perspectives: direct support for social projects, experimentation in social innovation and the creation of collective learning spaces around the impact economy.
Birth of Innova Impact Community
One of the main new developments announced during the event was the creation of Innova Impact Community, a learning community on the impact economy that will begin to develop from next June. This initiative is driven jointly by SpainNAB, Urbegi Social Impact — with Susana Mañueco leading the project — and Benco, led by Íñigo Alli.
The Impact Community is born with the objective of strengthening the Navarrese impact ecosystem, connecting organisations, companies and projects that seek to generate social or environmental value and are interested in advancing in the measurement and management of their impact, as well as in exploring impact financing pathways to scale their initiatives.
At this stage, the project is in an initial phase of identifying and activating key territorial actors, with the intention of forming a diverse group of organisations that will actively participate in the collective learning process.
The community will combine periodic in-person gatherings with ongoing work on the digital platform The Glocal Network (a tool developed by Urbegi) that will facilitate the exchange of knowledge, resources and experiences among participants. The objective is to consolidate a network of actors committed to generating positive impact in Navarre, connected at the same time to national and international trends and networks in the sector.
New initiatives to support social projects
In addition to the Impact Community, the new edition of Innova presented yesterday frames two further proposals within its social innovation support structure.
On one hand, the new call for the already established Proyecto Innova, aimed at supporting the development and consolidation of innovative social projects that seek to generate positive impact in the territory, with some new features that broaden the possibilities for participants in this edition.
On the other, the programme will include Innova Social Lab, an experimentation and accompaniment space to be led by Ashoka around two challenges: the creation of spaces for joint socialisation and support for new rural entrepreneurship initiatives (deadlines and terms of reference can be consulted on the Innova Navarra website). This laboratory will work with collaborative methodologies to drive innovative solutions to complex social challenges and strengthen the transformative potential of participating initiatives.
Strengthening the impact ecosystem in Navarre
With these new initiatives, Fundación Caja Navarra and Fundación ‘la Caixa’ reinforce the role of the Innova programme as a catalyst for the social innovation ecosystem in Navarre, promoting not only the development of individual projects but also the creation of collaboration and learning networks among the different territorial actors.
The launch of Innova Impact Community represents, in this context, an opportunity to continue strengthening the impact ecosystem in Navarre and advance towards economic and financial models that explicitly integrate the generation of social and environmental value.
